Food and Fishing

As an island nation we have always looked to the sea to feed our families by harvesting its incredible resources like Lyme Bay Crab, Scottish Salmon and North Sea Cod. However, those resources are coming under increasing pressure with more intense fishing methods by larger and larger vessels depleting stocks and decimating fish and shellfish populations.

Food & Fishing will look into what more can be done to make the seafood sector become more sustainable, more productive and safer for those who choose it as their profession. Through innovation, technology development and global cooperation we can make the most of the sea’s resources while also securing coastal livelihoods and ensuring it can continue to feed the next generation.
